p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct instruction to students with mild to severe disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that fosters student independence and learning Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies Collect and analyze data to inform instructional planning and progress monitoring Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, ancillary staff, and families Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development Supervise and guide classroom support staff (e.g., paraprofessionals) Implement accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology as required. QUALIFICATIONS Possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement Experience working with students with disabilities in a self-contained setting preferred Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills Knowledge of IEP development, special education law, and instructional best practices Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
