Current strengths of the department that we seek to complement or expand include: metabolism (spatial-biology, metabolomics, metabolic flux analysis, and artificial intelligence), structural biochemistry (macromolecular structure using cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, and NMR), and molecular biology (RNA structure/function, epigenetics, gene regulation, DNA repair, and replication). UF offers world-class facilities for NMR/MRI (AMRIS center), structural biology (CSB), mass spectrometry (CASBR), epigenetics (CEG), cancer and neuroscience (McKnight Brain Institute), and computing that are readily accessible to researchers.
