We want your knowledge and expertise!</p><h5>Job Summary and Qualifications</h5><p>Under the supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP), the Respiratory Therapy Tech will administer noninvasive respiratory care/therapy to patients without artificial airways as ordered by the attending physician; and perform noninvasive diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy under the supervision of the supervisor or charge therapist. </p><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW86728598 BCX0" style="font-size:12px"><p class="Paragraph SCXW86728598 BCX0">GENERALRESPONSIBILITIES(The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position including interactions with other departments and outside vendors, if applicable, in PRIORITY order.) </p></div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW86728598 BCX0" style="font-size:12px"><p class="Paragraph SCXW86728598 BCX0"/><ul><li> Administers and monitors respiratory therapy treatments <br/></li><li>Administers therapy according to established departmental policy (High Risk/High Volume) </li><li>Responds immediately to emergency codes and correctly manages the airway and external compressions under the direct supervision of a licensed RCP policy (High Risk/High Volume) </li><li>Follows established hospital and departmental infection control policies </li><li>Consult Charge Therapist when in doubt about a procedure or situation </li><li>Records pertinent information on patient medical record. </li><li>Accurately documents all respiratory care interventions during assigned shift (High Risk/High Volume) </li><li>Maintains up-to-date departmental records </li><li>Enters charges per shift for service performed/provided </li><li>Gives knowledgeable and accurate shift report to oncoming shift </li><li>Performs noninvasive diagnostic tests </li><li>Performs bedside spirometry and accurately records results </li><li>Performs peak flow, inspiratory and expiratory force and vital capacity measurements </li><li>Monitors pulse oximetry </li><li>Perform ECGs as ordered policy (High Risk/Low Volume) </li><li>Administers and monitors continuous oxygen therapy </li><li>Sets up oxygen new starts according to departmental policy within 20 minutes of notification policy (High Risk/High Volume) </li><li>Monitors all continuous oxygen therapy, in the absence of the equipment technician, according to departmental policy. </li><li>Performs cleaning, preventive maintenance and calibration of Respiratory Therapy equipment as required. </li></ul></div><p/><h6>What qualifications you will need:</h6><ul><li>Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date</li><li>High School Graduate / GED</li></ul><p/><h6></h6><p/><p style="font-size:12pt"/><p><a href="http://www.stdavids.com/locations/st-davids-medical-center" rel="nofollow">St. David’s Medical Center</a>, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a comprehensive medical facility with three locations: St. David’s Medical Center, <a href="http://www.stdavids.com/locations/heart-hospital-of-austin" rel="nofollow">Heart Hospital of Austin</a>, and <a href="http://www.stdavids.com/locations/st-davids-georgetown-hospital" rel="nofollow">St. David’s Georgetown Hospital</a>.
