Responsibilities:
Preoperative Phase:<ul><li class="x_MsoNormal">Conduct patient assessments, including medical history and physical status</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Verify surgical consent, site, and procedure</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Educate patients and families about the surgical process and recovery expectations</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery</li></ul>Postoperative Phase:<ul><li class="x_MsoNormal">Monitor patients in the recovery phase – PACU and Phase 2</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Assess vital signs, pain level, and surgical site</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Administer medications and manage pain control</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Provide discharge instructions and patient education</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Recognize and respond to complications</li></ul>General Duties:<ul><li class="x_MsoNormal">Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li class="x_MsoNormal">Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and/or PALS within 3 months of employment</li><li class="x_MsoNormal">Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills</li></ul>
