Our teachers are passionate about the intellectual and emotional development of children, and we are currently in search of an equally passionate and enthusiastic Lead Teacher to join our child care team.
The right applicant may have experience with babysitting, childcare, parenting, homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in your Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching your own children, or perhaps teaching in a classical or private school (although not required). The ideal applicant will have strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship, and must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.
Prior classroom experience is not required, but the ideal candidate must be confident teaching high school-level academics, with a focus on Honors Algebra 1, Geometry, and higher-level math. In addition to high school math instruction, responsibilities include providing math enrichment for grades 3–6, and supporting middle school and upper elementary science and language arts as needed.
Supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas, developing lesson plans, and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines, collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues, and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students, parents, or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress. Requires the ability to read a variety of policy and procedure manuals, curriculum materials, texts, computer manuals, etc., and to enter data into a computer and prepare reports, records, teaching materials, correspondence, etc., with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
p>Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of remaining standing for extended periods of time, writing on a chalkboard, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, and some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12 to 20 pounds). The job of Teacher - Special Education is done for the purposes of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for developing special education students success in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living.
