This position shall possess and maintain the product knowledge and technical skills necessary for planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), wireless networks, layer 3 switches, IP telephony, emergency notification devices, and/or related networking equipment for fast, secure, and reliable operation, install and support UNCSAs LANs, WAN, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems Routing, Switching, VLANs, and Intervlan Interfaces. The primary purpose of this position is technical and operational support of: the entire UNCSA campus data communications network (wired and wireless), optical fiber and copper-based cable plant, network management software tools, network hardware interconnectivity, network security policy enforcement, end user connectivity needs, future network design changes, new equipment evaluations and installations, and technology consultation for new construction projects.
