Description Summary:A professional who assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates patient care activities. He/she has clinical and/or functional knowledge of the position for which they are accountable either directly or indirectly through delegation of tasks. Incumbent is accountable to the Administrative Team. Collaborates with other Clinical Associates to meet individual needs using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost effective care.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Performs clinical skills accurately and professionally in clinic and with assigned athletic programs</li><li>Associate is able to work proficiently and efficiently in all areas of athletic coverage</li><li>Associate is recognized by coaches and team physicians for providing excellent prevention and rehabilitation services to athletes and patients</li><li>Coordinates care with other healthcare providers as needed</li><li>Completes school and hospital paperwork within designated timeframes</li><li>Paperwork includes, but is not limited to, weekly timesheets, weekly injury treatment logs, etc.</li><li>Provides feedback and develops new tracking tools/forms if needed, to improve accuracy and efficiency of reporting</li><li>Participates in sport’s report summaries</li><li>Implements surveys for sport’s clients to better meet their needs and follow – up on their concerns</li><li>Responds to the requests of sport’s clients and physicians by developing a questionnaire (formal or informal)</li><li>Coordinates, plans, and implements new sport’s programs for existing clients</li><li>Consistently communicates clearly with co – workers, case management, parents, coaches, and physicians on athlete injuries and event coverage</li><li>Identifies barriers to effective communication and implements changes in processes to include meetings, documentation, etc.</li><li>Conducts a thorough initial clinical evaluation of injuries and illnesses commonly sustained by the competitive athlete</li><li>Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of functional anatomy and characteristic pathology of all common closed soft tissue injuries, open wounds, and fractures</li><li>Performs needs’ assessment of clients and recommends and develops clinics and educational programs</li><li>Collaborates with Principals, Athletic Directors, and Coaches to develop and implement programs of value to the school system</li><li>Provides appropriate first aid and emergency treatment for acute athletic injury/illnesses</li><li>Has knowledge of and demonstrate compliance with infection control policies</li><li>Appropriately handles and dispose of sharps and appropriately dispose of bio-hazardous materials</li><li>Expands relationships with current schools</li><li>Actively markets services to physicians and coaches and increase awareness to athletes and parents of sport’s affiliations</li><li>Actively pursues opportunities to expand into new schools or community partnerships</li><li>Takes lead with communication and coordination of coverage with new partners</li><li>Assists with offering 2 in-services per year in the community</li><li>Delivers treatment to athletes resulting in patient and physician satisfaction</li><li>Identifies barriers to patient and physician satisfaction and assists with improving entire process</li><li>Assists with formalizing current internal programs</li><li>Initiates and completes protocol development and actively markets to physicians</li><li>Anticipates patient and physician needs to decrease complaints/concerns and acts to resolve the situation</li><li>Assists with education of co – workers and clients by providing at least one in-service per year</li><li>Actively participates in maintaining the referral of athletes within the CHRISTUS Health Care System</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree</li><li>BLS</li></ul>Work Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Monday-FridayWork Type: Full Time
