Our compassionate and dedicated team strives to create a meaningful experience for patients and their families.</p><hr/><h4>Role Overview:</h4><p>We are seeking compassionate, caring, and committed volunteers to join our Bloom Hospice Volunteer Program. Volunteers play a crucial role in enriching the lives of our patients by offering valuable companionship and specialized therapies, including music therapy, pet therapy, and other alternative therapies.</p><hr/><h4>Responsibilities:</h4><ul><li>Offer emotional support and companionship to patients</li><li>Assist in providing specialized therapies such as music therapy, pet therapy, and other alternative therapies</li><li>Work closely with the hospice care team to ensure patient needs are met</li><li>Support patients' families and friends through Bereavement Program activities such as outreach, support groups, and administrative work</li><li>Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, as well as patient privacy policies</li></ul><hr/><h4>Qualifications:</h4><ul><li>No prior experience in healthcare is required; training will be provided</li><li>Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and excellent interpersonal skills</li><li>Availability to commit to a regular volunteer schedule for this unpaid position</li><li>Must pass a background check and comply with all Bloom Healthcare policies and procedures</li></ul><hr/><h4>Benefits:</h4><ul><li>Comprehensive training and orientation program</li><li>Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and their families</li><li>Ongoing support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator</li><li>Eligibility for special recognition and awards</li></ul><hr/><h4>How to Apply:</h4><p>If you are interested in making a positive difference in the lives of those dealing with terminal illness, we would love to hear from you. Bristol Hospice San Antonio is seeking compassionate individuals to serve as companion volunteers for patients in their final stages of life. </p><p>What You'll Do: </p><ul><li>Visit patients in their homes, assisted living, or nursing facilities </li><li>Offer companionship through conversation, reading aloud, playing games, or simply sitting quietly together </li><li>Provide a comforting presence to patients who may not have family nearby </li><li>Support emotional well-being through kindness and attentiveness </li></ul><p>Requirements: </p><ul><li>Must be at least 18 years old </li><li>Complete Bristol Hospice's volunteer training and onboarding process </li><li>Pass background and TB screening (provided at no cost) </li><li>Have reliable transportation </li></ul><p>Time Commitment: Flexible with your schedule - Just 1-2 hours a week can make a meaningful impact! </p><p>How to Apply: If you're ready to share your time, heart, and compassion, we'd love to hear from you!
