Qualified candidates contacted within 24 hours.<hr/><h3>Position Overview</h3>Tarpon Specialty Services is now hiring experienced Structural Welders for an active industrial construction project in Greenville, Mississippi. We are actively recruiting from the Jackson metro area — if you're a qualified welder willing to work in Greenville, we want to talk.Per diem is available for qualifying out-of-area workers. This is a serious project with immediate openings — not a pipeline posting.<hr/><h3>What You'll Do</h3><ul><li>Perform structural welding in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions using FCAW (Flux Core) and SMAW (Stick) processes</li><li>Execute fit-up, tacking, and welding of structural connections per project specifications and applicable codes</li><li>Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld procedure specifications (WPS)</li><li>Inspect welds for conformance to specification; maintain required documentation</li><li>Coordinate with foremen, ironworkers, and other trades on site</li><li>Follow all site safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company safety policies at all times</li></ul><hr/><h3>Minimum Requirements</h3><ul><li>Qualified or able to qualify in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions — FCAW (Flux Core) and SMAW (Stick) required</li><li>3+ years of structural welding experience in industrial or heavy construction environments</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld procedure specifications</li><li>OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred; site safety orientation required</li><li>Valid government-issued photo ID and reliable transportation to the Greenville, MS job site</li><li>Must pass pre-employment drug screening — drug-free workplace</li></ul><hr/><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Current weld certifications in 2G, 3G, and/or 4G — FCAW and SMAW</li><li>AWS Certified Welder (CW) credential</li><li>Prior experience on power, industrial, or energy construction projects</li><li>Mississippi field experience a plus — familiarity with Delta-region work conditions preferred</li></ul><hr/><h3>Compensation & Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive hourly wages commensurate with experience and weld certifications</li><li>Per diem available for our skilled workers — Jackson-area candidates encouraged to ask about eligibility</li><li>Overtime opportunities based on project schedule</li><li>Project-based contract with potential for extended assignment based on performance</li></ul><hr/><h3>About Tarpon Specialty Services</h3>Tarpon Specialty Services is a specialty contractor providing skilled craft labor to industrial, power, and energy construction projects across the region. Main Responsibilities: <ul><li>Manually guide welding gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molted puddle. </li><li>Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. </li><li>Examine weld for bead size and other specifications. </li><li>Apply filler rod manually to supply weld metal. </li><li>Clean or degrease weld joints or work piece(s). </li><li>Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. </li><li>Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces. </li><li>Chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter. </li><li>Preheat work piece with hand torch or heating furnace. </li><li>Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture. </li><li>Tack together assemblies. </li></ul> Required Qualifications: <ul><li> Associate's degree or completion certificate from two-year college or trade school. Experience in lieu of education may be considered. </li><li> Valid driver's license. </li><li> Current DOT physical. </li><li> 6+ months related experience and/or training. </li><li>Work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations. </li><li>Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. </li><li> Drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) and/or CDL-required vehicle. </li><li>Must pass computer-based testing, specific to the local Customer's operator. </li></ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Commercial Driver's License (CDL) </li></ul> Connect with us on Social Media!
