Accounting Specialist (Construction)

Location: North Side of Indianapolis, IN
Salary: $60,000–$70,000 depending on experience

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist with a construction accounting background to support day-to-day financial operations for a growing construction company. This role focuses on AP/AR, job costing, and supporting month-end close in a project-based environment.

Responsibilities

• 
  
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• 
  
• Perform job cost accounting by project, phase, and cost code
• 
  
• Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
• 
  
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
• 
  
• Prepare lien waivers and manage subcontractor/vendor documentation
• 
  
• Support payroll reviews and job allocations
• 
  
• Work closely with project managers to resolve cost discrepancies
• 
  

Requirements

• 
  
• 2+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry (required)
• 
  
• Working knowledge of job costing and construction accounting practices
• 
  
• Experience with accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or similar)
• 
  
• Proficient in Excel
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
•
