About the Position:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will contribute to Amity’s mission by providing vital clerical support for the STOP Program Director. This position would be responsible for a variety of administrative functions including document processing and preparation, scheduling, data entry, reception, and other administrative support duties.
What Will You Do?
- Performs a variety of administrative, secretarial and receptionist tasks including, but not limited to, arranging itineraries, preparing agendas, arranging meetings, and composing correspondence and memos.
- Establishes and maintains files and records, which may include clinical or other confidential materials.
- Receives, screens and routes visitors, correspondence, and telephone calls.
- May attend committees or other meetings.
- May assist in research compilation and organization of statistical and narrative data for reports and proposals.
- Maintains general filing systems.
- Coordinate routine data entry of administrative information, which may include general staff records and training.
- Manage the logistics of routine in-service training.
- Attends workshops, meetings, and training as requested by supervisor.
- May serve as Community Advocate role in addition to job as requested by community leadership.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Preferred:
- Prior experience as an administrative assistant or in data entry is an asset.

Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse.
- Proficient knowledge of office equipment including personal computers, with a familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Minimum typing speed of 40wpm.
- Ability to work co-operatively with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Possess excellent oral and written skills.
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact with agency and department heads and correctional officials.
- Understand and appropriately apply Amity policies and procedures and adhere to agencywide practices and regulations.

- Occasionally travels locally and operates motor vehicles.
