AI Documentation and Knowledge Management Consultant
Role Overview
The AI Strategy, Acceleration and Program team is seeking a temporary consultant to create practical, easy-to-use documentation and knowledge resources for enterprise AI enablement. This individual will translate complex technology, governance, risk, and operating-model concepts into clear SharePoint and Confluence content, process diagrams, procedures, and reusable guidance. The role is best suited for a hands-on technical writer with an IT background who can organize ambiguous inputs and collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
" Design, build, and maintain SharePoint and Confluence pages for AI enablement and governance work, including logical navigation, page structures, templates, and content organization.
" Create and edit procedures, process guides, playbooks, FAQs, checklists, decision trees, and other reference materials for varied business and technical audiences.
" Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, swimlanes, stakeholder-engagement maps, and operating-model visuals that clarify roles, handoffs, approvals, and escalation paths.
" Gather information through stakeholder interviews and working sessions, identify documentation gaps or inconsistencies, and validate content with subject-matter experts.
" Improve consistency across materials by applying common terminology, formatting, version-control practices, and content-review routines.
" Partner with business, technology, data, risk, compliance, legal, and governance stakeholders to turn evolving requirements into usable, implementation-ready artifacts.
Required Qualifications
" 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, IT documentation, knowledge management, business analysis, process design, or a related field.
" Hands-on experience creating and maintaining content in SharePoint and Confluence.
" Demonstrated ability to create clear procedures, process maps, and visual documentation for complex workflows.
" Working knowledge of enterprise technology environments and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
" Strong writing, editing, interviewing, synthesis, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
" Proficiency with tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, Word, or comparable diagramming and documentation platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
" Experience documenting AI, data, technology governance, risk, compliance, or other emerging-technology processes.
" Experience with Jira or similar work-management tools; financial-services or other regulated-industry experience is a plus.
