Job Description: At Regions, the Accounting Policy Manager oversees accounting policy and financial reporting practices within the respective business unit, identifies and escalates significant or unusual transactions, advises Business Lines, Finance and Risk partners on accounting/control implications of new products, services, or transactions, assists with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), regulatory exams, internal and external audits, as well as responds to financial reporting requests. Prepares and/or provides oversight on preparation of United States (US) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) technical accounting position papers on events and transactions (including due diligence efforts) and works with internal/external auditors through the review process.
