Job-Specific Responsibilities: Performs laboratory experiments utilizing AAVs and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing complexes, gene engineered mouse models, cell culture, flow cytometry, immunostaining, microscopy, molecular biology and bioassays; Collects and safeguards project data; keeps detailed, accurate and up-to-date notes detailing experimental design and results; Under direction, processes, organizes and summarizes data, reporting experiment results in written form and in oral presentations, using a variety of scientific, word processing, spreadsheet and statistical software applications or program platforms; As a member of a project team, assists in the design and execution of laboratory experiments, techniques, and protocols; Performs routine logging and/or testing of samples; routine animal husbandry and experimentation, and genotyping. The lab is seeking highly motivated candidates to assist in ongoing experiments that include the development and application of novel CRISPR/Cas9 and adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene transfer technologies, mouse work (colony maintenance, husbandry, genotyping, physiological assessment, tissue harvest, etc.), cell culture, flow cytometry, immunostaining, and bioassays of skeletal muscle and hematopoietic cell function.
