Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, Athletics, the Associate Director of Development, Athletics Engagement & Annual Giving works closely with the central university Annual Giving team, and is responsible for developing strategies for all athletic constituents to include athletic alumni, parents and friends annual giving campaigns, qualifying and soliciting gifts to athletics priorities at the Luther Rice Society (LRS) level of $1,000 up to $49,999, and facilitating athletic alumni engagement opportunities. Leads efforts by annual giving marketing staff to develop and execute omni-channel solicitation campaigns to increase annual giving dollars and donors to athletic priorities including team-specific fundraising drives and special initiatives such as the Buff & Blue Fund Challenge or season ticket holder drives.

The AVP is also directly responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major and principal gift prospects, and works closely with the Associate Vice President of Principal & Legacy Gifts and the Associate Vice President for Development, Schools and Academic Units to develop strategy for leadership prospects. Oversees and is responsible with the Dean for the performance management of a team responsible for major gifts, annual giving donor retention, and constituent engagement through the use of DAR performance metrics tools including, prospect moves management reports, strategy development reports, individual metric reports and other Power BI performance analytics.

The qualifications needed to become an athletic director vary among schools and the level of the institution. To apply for this position at a middle school or high school, you'll need a bachelor's degree in a sports-related discipline such as athletic coaching, sports management, athletic administration, or physical education.
