Skills required include IV pump and insertion (central, PICC, midline), tube feeding pump, GI/PEG/NG tube management and insertion, wound vac/wound care, indwelling catheter care, trach care and suctioning, laryngectomy care, drain care, and behavior management. Unit support includes a charge nurse (who may carry a patient assignment), Health Unit Coordinator (0600-2230), and 24/7 Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapy, and Phlebotomy coverage.
