Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months PCU experience License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General PCU skillset - Stroke experience - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Tracheostomy care - Peripheral IV starts - Chest tube management - Nasogastric tube placement - Drain and tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, Foley insertion/management) - Management of medication drips including cardiac drips, Heparin, Insulin, blood products, and IV fluids Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in progressive care. Patient types and common diagnoses include heart failure, chest pain, rule-out stroke, general medical sepsis, renal failure, respiratory failure, DKA, and interventional patients with titratable drips.
