Training and Experience: A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering; and for Construction Engineer, three years of responsible professional civil and construction engineering experience in a water utility; for a Construction Engineer (P.E.), seven years of responsible professional engineering work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
