New entry level Team Members who successfully complete their first 90-days of employment and who remain actively employed in an eligible role, may be eligible for a base rate increase after their 90-day anniversary.

This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting. The ideal candidate will be warm and responsible, with a passion for food, an appreciation for young children, and a desire to continuously learn and grow.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing dishes and utensils and maintaining inventory levels as needed. The Full Time Line Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking and presenting dishes, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Lead Line Cooks also own final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for varying menu item plates while collaborating with Front of House teams to execute timing of final plate delivery to our fans.

Lead Line Cooks are responsible for supporting management by leading the kitchen team with accurately and efficiently cooking meats, fish, vegetables, and other hot food products as well as preparing and portioning food products prior to cooking.

Success in this position requires staying aware of what's happening beyond your own station - including inventory levels, pacing, and team needs - and proactively communicating with Leads or Supervisors when support is needed. As a Line Cook, you will support the Lead Line Cook while helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment to deliver excellent dishes to every guest, every time.

Position Summary: Line Cook I is responsible for preparing a variety of products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, broths, breads and other edible products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prepare List. The Cliffs Hotel & Spa is a locally owned business and proud supporter of our local Central Coast Community, providing donations and hosting community-focused programs throughout the year including free and philanthropic events.

• Prepares a variety of sauces and stocks, soups, stews, marinades, vegetables, starches, proteins and garnishes by roasting, poaching, grilling, braising, frying, making dressings and stewing meats.

The Line Cook is also responsible for knowing the food hierarchy in the storage of products in the walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer, and also keeping the dry storage organized. Prepares food with proper safety equipment, tools and recipe specs with further direction from Management.
