Responsible for directing the engineering and environmental activities at the mine site to include, but not limited to, the engineering, environmental permits and licenses, surveying, and other measures to plan, control and document the extraction of underground materials and raw coal, roof control, ventilation, coal loading, coal processing and reclamation requirements at the operation. Provides engineering assistance to Mine Management in the planning, layout and construction of the mine infrastructure including slopes and/or shafts, roof control, ventilation systems, haul roads, drainage systems, electrical power distribution systems, erosion control structures, and reclamation post-mining land use areas.
