Demonstrates the following skills, competently, effectively, and safely as delegated/directed by a licensed nurse: Discontinue peripheral IV, discontinue indwelling urinary (foley) catheter, phlebotomy, EKG, bladder scanning, wound care- dressings (foam borders and preventative care); obtaining blood products from the Lab; nasopharyngeal specimen swabs; and ostomy appliance change. Provides general patient care, such as morning care, which may include bed bath, oral hygiene, combing hair, dressing patient, evening care, back rubs, changing bed linens, cleaning overbed table and bedside stand, straightening room, and other general care as necessary throughout the shift.
