Documents medications, treatments, and prn's according to policy; Completes 24 hour report daily; Monitors residents' intake and output; Participates in the monthly medication renewal process; Completes forms used throughout the residents chart; Documents any exceptions to residents' condition, including daily charting on ill residents; 24-, 48-, or 72-hour follow-up charting on residents with infections; incidents or new admits; Interprets policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required; Ensures residents charge slips are completed and forwarded to the appropriate department for processing; Accurately maintains daily census reports and submits to business office daily, as applicable; Completes medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc, as necessary; Records new/changed diet orders and forwards information to the Dietary department; Reports any discrepancies noted concerning physician's orders, diet changes, charting errors, etc, to supervisor . Other Requirements: Special care/dementia care employees will have additional training in caring for and treating dementia residents; Must be able to work with elderly residents, families and other health care staff members; Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook; Must participate in Continuing Education Ohio State Requirements; Active RN license conferred by the Board of Nursing; Must meet, in a timely manner, the residents" total care, supervisory and emotional needs as determined by the resident assessment; Must monitor above and beyond regular supervision those residents with increased emotional needs and/or those residents who present behaviors that cause problems for themselves or other residents (or both); Assist, when necessary, with prompt evacuation of non-ambulatory residents; Must have first-aid training, evidenced by documentation.
