<h1>Staff Accountant</h1><h2>SHINE Management - Luray, VA, United States</h2>Reporting to the Controller and CFO, the Staff Accountant will provide administrative and financial support services. The position works closely with other accounting personnel an external clients.Competencies:<ul><li>GAAP Accounting.</li><li>Government Accounting.</li><li>Financial Transactions.</li><li>Collaboration Skills.</li><li>Ethical Conduct.</li><li>Thoroughness and attention to detail.</li></ul>Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Monitor Accounts Receivable/collections to include setting up new customer accounts, and compiling AR invoices.</li><li>Process Accounts Payable invoices and W-9 verification for new vendors, weekly Accounts Payable check run, and monitor when invoices are due.</li><li>Asset Management process and reporting.</li><li>Reconcile monthly deposits.</li><li>Process, reconcile credit card payments and code to proper account.</li><li>Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts as needed.</li><li>Process monthly bank reconciliations.</li><li>Assist with financial statement review.</li><li>Month-end closing process.</li><li>Additional duties as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. An associate degree in accounting may be considered with 5 years’ experience.</li><li>2-5 years of professional experience in accounting and finance in government accounting.</li><li>Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook).</li><li>Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Unanet Deltek, Procas, etc.</li><li>Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors, and clients.</li><li>Able to work as a team player.</li><li>Open to the development of skills and knowledge.</li><li>Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills.</li></ul>Work Environment:<ul><li>This job operates in a clerical, office setting, or remote setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
