Lead Regional Field Technician responsible for overseeing cable installation teams and leading small, medium, and large-scale physical network migrations within the Field Services Practice. Perform site surveys and review findings with customers and field engineers to address remediation needs and ensure field technicians are prepared for successful on-site execution.

Our enterprise-level client is seeking to add several Lead Field Technicians to the team requiring 75% travel nationwide. Please see below for full details-

  Pay Rate = $48 w2 per hour + benefits 
  Preferred locations: MO, FL, NC, TX, AZ, MA, VA, AL, LA, GA, MN, OH, MI, WI, IA, SC 
  Expense Policy:  All travel, lodging, and associated expenses will be incurred up front by the consultant via a personal credit card.  All expenses will then be reimbursed or covered via Per Diem.For rental car, use economy or uber with receipts

If they drive a personal vehicle, $0.72 a mile Lead Regional Field Technician responsible for overseeing cable installation teams and leading small, medium, and large-scale physical network migrations within the Field Services Practice. In this role, you will provide technical leadership for field technicians, coordinate end-to-end field operations across diverse customer locations, conduct detailed site surveys, and deliver on-site smart hands support while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and on-time project delivery. 
  Responsibilities:<ul><li>Serve as the lead technical resource on installation projects, providing on-site leadership, guidance, and mentoring for junior staff. Interview, schedule, and coordinate field technicians for on-site work and deliverable (as-built) processing. </li><li>Plan and coordinate high-risk activities, including live network integrations, with a strong focus on risk mitigation and clear escalation protocols. </li><li>Act as the on-site lead and primary liaison for the partner resources, and subcontractors. Review, analyze, and validate all supporting documentation required to stage devices in accordance with predefined specifications.</li><li>Conduct daily safety briefings and weekly toolbox talks, ensuring adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.</li><li>Develop documentation and procedures to be used for site surveys and on-site installation activities. </li><li>Perform site surveys and review findings with customers and field engineers to address remediation needs and ensure field technicians are prepared for successful on-site execution. </li><li>Collaborate with the Project Management team to plan and execute on-site activities. Train field technicians on expectations, quality standards, and site work best practices. </li><li>Perform Dead on Arrival (DOA) and Green Light testing. Conduct post-installation Quality Assurance to validate successful implementation. Integrate infrastructure components in alignment with provided slotting matrices and cabling diagrams. </li><li>Provide console management access to enable remote engineering support. Perform cabling installation tasks, including pulling, securing, splicing cable, and running conduit. </li><li>Handle physical device placement, including unboxing, racking, and mounting network equipment. </li></ul>  Qualifications:<ul><li>Leadership experience managing small teams </li><li>Ability to adapt, make decisions and collaborate is very important Knowledge of network cabling, optic types </li><li>Knowledge of infrastructure technologies </li><li>Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, etc.) and common Networking Protocols </li><li>Knowledge of updating the OS for Cisco, Juniper and other networking gear. </li><li>Some experience in network implementations and support </li><li>Familiar with network heat maps and software inclusive of Ekahau </li><li>Related degree in computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent experience </li><li>BICSI Installer or equivalent knowledge </li><li>CCENT or equivalent knowledge </li><li>Network + or equivalent knowledge </li><li>A+ or equivalent </li><li>Datacenter experience </li><li>A minimum of 3 years' progressive experience in a related field </li><li>Some experience in network implementations and support </li><li>Experience communicating with peers or customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. </li><li>Experience with small or medium-to-large, complex project scopes and ambiguous details within work environment </li><li>Ability to prioritize and use time management practices Ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs Ability to use judgement and analytical skills </li></ul>  Why Work with Merge IT?
