Upward Bound Tutors work individually and with small groups of UB high school students to assist with their studies in Math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus) Science (biology, chemistry, physics, and anatomy/physiology) and English/Writing over the course of the term (week 2 through week 10) to help them better understand course material and prepare for assignments and exams. In addition to helping students with course content, tutors share study strategies and demonstrate methods for how students can find the answers for themselves, with the goal that through tutoring, UB students build the skills that will enable them to experience greater academic success and excel in their classes.
