Essential Functions:Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and proceduresDetermine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on drawing requirementsSet up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material to match measurements, size material to proper diameter, etc.)Operate appropriate tools to prepare parts that must be weldedAlign components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces or fixturesWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)Repair assemblies and other components by welding pieces and filling gapsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flawsMaintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyParticipate in 6S activities dailyParticipate in TFOS initiativesRequirements Professional Certification (e.g., an AWS welding certificate) is preferredProficiency in MIG welding is required; both MIG and TIG preferred. Experience in using electrical, pneumatic, or manual tools (swagers, squares, calipers etc.)Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawingsAbility to accurately enter production data into EpicorWillingness and ability to learn and implement Operational Excellence and TFOS principlesWillingness and ability to perform in other areas of production as neededProficient in EnglishPhysical SummaryWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, hear, grasp, reach with hand/arms, use hands including repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement; occasionally required to push/pull, walk and operate mechanical equipment; and rarely required to talk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs or balance.
