JOB SUMMARY

The Advancement Coordinator serves as a key operational and engagement partner within the Development team, directly supporting the Executive Director of Campaign Strategy in advancing annual and mid-level giving. This role is responsible for executing donor engagement initiatives, coordinating crowdfunding efforts, supporting the launch and growth of SEU's recurring giving program, and strengthening donor relationships through proactive outreach and stewardship.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, relational, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping donors invest in the mission of the university. This position blends project management, donor communication, campaign coordination, alumni engagement, and frontline outreach to help expand SEU's culture of generosity.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but are not limited to the following:

Donor Outreach & Stewardship (25%)

  • Coordinate 20,000 donor outreach calls annually, including thank-you calls, stewardship calls, engagement outreach, event invitations, and campaign follow-up. These will be done in collaboration with the Advancement Graduate Assistants and scholarshipped student ambassadors.
  • Build meaningful relationships with alumni, parents, friends, and donors through personalized communication.
  • Document donor interactions and update records accurately within the CRM.

Crowdfunding Program Management (20%)

  • Fully own and oversee SEU's crowdfunding initiatives from planning through execution and reporting.
  • Partner with campus departments, student groups, athletics, and academic programs to launch and manage crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Develop campaign timelines, communication plans, and stewardship strategies.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide recommendations for growth and optimization.
  • Train and support campus partners participating in crowdfunding efforts.

Recurring Giving Program Support (20%)

  • Support the launch and ongoing growth of SEU's recurring giving society/program.
  • Assist with donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship strategies related to monthly giving.
  • Coordinate recurring donor communications, welcome journeys, and engagement experiences.
  • Help develop campaign messaging and materials that inspire long-term partnership.

Alumni Engagement Support (15%)

  • Support alumni engagement efforts through strategic email communications and targeted outreach campaigns.
  • Coordinate alumni communications related to university events, engagement opportunities, and giving initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and executing VIP alumni experiences during Commencement ceremonies.
  • Provide support for Homecoming activities, alumni receptions, and engagement events.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to strengthen alumni participation and affinity with the university.

Annual & Mid-Level Giving Support (10%)

  • Support the Executive Director of Development in the execution of annual and mid-level giving strategies and campaigns.
  • Coordinate donor communications, stewardship touchpoints, and campaign logistics across multiple giving initiatives.
  • Assist with donor pipeline management, reporting, and tracking within CRM systems.
  • Help identify opportunities to deepen donor engagement and increase recurring support.

Administrative & Event Support (10%)

  • Assist with advancement events, donor experiences, and engagement opportunities as needed.
  • Coordinate scheduling, meeting preparation, mailing projects, and campaign logistics.
  • Support data integrity and reporting related to annual and recurring giving initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Alumni Relations, Student Financial Services, and campus partners.

EDUCATION

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, education, finance or other related field.

Preferred Education:

Master's degree in marketing, business, education, finance or other related field.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

Required:

3 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, customer engagement, sales, communications, or related fields

Preferred:

5 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, customer engagement, sales, communications, or related fields

Experience with CRM/database systems preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5: 00 pm. This is a 12-month, salaried, exempt position.

TRAINING

All new hires and employees transferring into a new position will have a 90-day probationary period within which to learn the functions of the job and to be evaluated. Following the probationary period, the employee can transition to regular status, have the probationary period extended in order to receive more training, or employment can be terminated. Required compliance training is as follows:

  1. Four to six weeks to learn details of job

  2. Twelve weeks to perform all job related duties

SCREENING

All full-time positions at SEU are deemed security-sensitive and require background checks. Employees required to drive their own personal vehicle, a rental car or an SEU vehicle in performance of their duties must pass an MVR records check and meet the requirements of the University's insurance carrier in order to meet the requirements of the position.
