Meade, Maryland Advantage SCI is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to be considered for employment. This individual shall support the Personnel Security Division in assessing, validating, and certifying the trustworthiness of DIA and designated DoD-affiliated personnel for clearance access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) through case management, adjudication, to include due process in an accurate and timely manner. Additionally, this support requires experienced and professional Personnel Security Specialists to support the Continuous Evaluation System (CES) as CES Screeners. Keyword: Personnel Security Specialist Required Experience: • 3-5 years of relevant experience• Experience with application of ICD704 and EO 12968; and SEAD 3, 6 and 7 which addresses reporting requirements, continuous vetting/evaluation, and reciprocity.• Knowledge of and ability to meet DNI and IRPTA timelines and skilled in prioritizing competing tasks while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.• Familiarity and experience utilizing Scattered Castles, eQIP, JPAS, JVS, DCII, and CVS; initiating and scoping, T5R background investigations; use of DPRIS, OPM Portal; performing National Agency Checks and Credit Checks. Knowledge and experience determining when a security case is complete and prepared for adjudication to include coordinating with other officers and determining the need for additional investigative information. • Use judgment and experience to conduct and/or collect national agency checks to complete an investigation for adjudicative review. National agency checks may consist of, but not limited to investigations, incident reports, continuous evaluation, continuous vetting, and T5R background investigations.• Strong writing skills to include experience and acumen in crafting analysis of data collected• Experience understanding exceptions codes, such as waivers, conditions, and deviations.• Understand difference between suitability determinations and security clearance determinations.• Experience creating, managing, and closing cases in appropriate security systems of record.• Excellent written and oral reporting skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and customers across geographically dispersed sites.• Possess a TS/SCI and <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank">successfully pass CI Poly</a>.• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.• Excellent written and oral reporting skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and customers across geographically dispersed sites.• Experience working in DIA a plus.• Must have a valid certification of completion in PII and Cyber Awareness Challenge from Information Assurance Support Environment (Only valid within 30 days of hire). Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to:<ul><li>Determining the employment suitability of applicants who require security clearances.</li><li>Reviewing questionnaire answers, statements of personal history, and other related data prior to starting formal background checks.</li><li>Investigating pertinent background information, such as credit bureau reports, local agency checks, criminal records, and traffic violations.</li><li>Evaluating interview answers and investigating potentially adverse information.</li><li>Drafting follow-up questions for cases where insufficient information was provided.</li><li>Determining the authenticity and veracity of all background information, interview answers, and statements.</li><li>Preparing reports and recommending whether security clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked, or denied.</li><li>Documenting processes and ensuring the protection of sensitive information.</li><li>Developing and maintaining sound background investigation practices, as well as ensuring compliance.</li></ul>

Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills<ul><li>Two years’ experience as a personnel security specialist, or in a similar role</li><li>Extensive knowledge of security policies, systems, procedures, and investigation techniques. </li><li>Proficiency in office software and task management solutions, such as MS Word, Excel, and monday.com. </li><li>Experience in gathering and reviewing background information. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of information verification techniques. </li><li>Exceptional ability to make recommendations and adjudicate on the granting of clearances. </li><li>Advanced ability to document processes, report findings, and protect sensitive information. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain sound background investigation practices. </li><li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. </li></ul> Education<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in a related field. </li></ul> Desired Requirements<ul><li>Experience in Defense & Aerospace Industry  </li></ul> Clearance<ul><li>A current Top Secret/SCI clearance</li></ul> #LI-VF1
