Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action; Must be knowledgeable and skilled in nursing medical practices and procedures with emphasis in the geriatric population; Must be familiar with current laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care; Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care and personal growth; Must maintain a high level of professionalism and willingness to handle difficult situations. A well-lighted and ventilated working area that has its own temperature control system (air conditioning and heat); Is subject to emotionally upset residents, and family members; Is willing to work beyond normal working hours, weekends and holidays when necessary; Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including exposure to AIDS and Hepatitis B virus; Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment is provided as needed.
