Academic Affairs leads in the development and implementation of the academic mission of the University, to include: advising the President and Board on academic affairs issues of University-wide importance; leading strategic academic planning and the implementation of resulting policies; collaborating with chancellors, chief academic officers, and faculty on University-wide academic initiatives; implementing the academic portion of the University''s strategic plan; and providing oversight and management of student affairs; data & analytics; academic programs, faculty, and research; digital learning, regulatory affairs, international affairs, and PBS NC. System Office staff is responsible for executing the policies of the UNC Board of Governors and providing University-wide leadership in the areas of academic affairs, business and financial management, long-range planning, student affairs, research, legal affairs, and government relations.
