Essential Functions: Creates Strategic Plan for attracting students with the right academic qualifications, from target high schools in assigned territorySets goals for assigned territory in regards to inquiries, applications, campus visitors, accepted students and enrolled studentsMakes travel arrangements and manages travel schedule to visit target schools within travel budgetTravels 5-7 weeks in the fall and 2-3 weeks in the spring attending college fairs and private visits to targeted schoolsBuilds relationships with key high school guidance counselors and independent counselors in assigned territory; invites them to visit campus or attend a Counselor Open House at HPUManages evaluation of all completed files within assigned territory; makes initial admit/deny/waitlist decisions for prospective studentsMeets with students and families after campus tours explaining application process, scholarship opportunities, study abroad, presidents seminar and answering all questionsUses technical resources and predictive modeling to make informed decisions about student's applications and outreachDevelops and maintains in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of the University's academic and extracurricular programsDevelops and maintains expertise to conduct campus tours; goes through tour shadowing program; conducts tours whenever neededHandles assigned duties during Admissions Events during the year: Open Houses, Early Registrations, Presidential Scholarship Program, Spirit Event, etc. Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree requiredExperience and Training :Experience in admissions counseling, sales or customer service preferredKnowledge, Skills, Ability:Strong interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality of informationProficiency in Microsoft Office product and the InternetAbility to travel extensivelyValid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable.
