As a High School Student Intern for the Intro to VR course, you'll support students as they learn to think critically, solve problems, work creatively, and collaborate with others while building their own VR projects. <h3>About Mission Bit</h3>Mission Bit is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that inspires youth of color to explore the world of STEM with project-based computer science education that embraces their identities. We offer a variety of hands-on STEM education programs, including semester-long introductory coding courses.<h3>The role</h3>As a High School Student Intern for the Intro to VR course, you'll support students as they learn to think critically, solve problems, work creatively, and collaborate with others while building their own VR projects. You'll guide and help students grow and reach their potential along the way. This is a highly visible, student-facing role that reports directly to the Education Program Manager. This role is in partnership with Meta’s Youth Summer Academy, hosted at Meta HQ.We’re proud to provide training to all instructional staff to prepare them to teach, along with ongoing support throughout the semester. They will help build relationships between their students and the whole group, support the student to participate in activities, and support any academic achievement plan.

BACR’s Expanded Learning Program at Sherman Elementary School seeks an engaging, part-time Student Aide-Support Specialist to support and assist a student with special needs to help them maximize their learning and participation in the program. The Student Aide will work closely with the student, family, therapists and school staff to create a support plan and daily schedule. They will help build relationships between their students and the whole group, support the student to participate in activities, and support any academic achievement plan. The Student Aide should expect to arrive by 2:30pm on a regular basis but may be asked to come in earlier for meetings and may stay late for special events. </li><li>Provide one on one support (interpret instructions, provide physical assistance) for a student with special needs in order to help them succeed in the after-school program on a daily basis </li><li>Support the needs of the student in the group environment throughout the after-school day</li><li> Implement or adapt lessons, materials, tools, resources and activities to address the student learning leads </li><li> Encourage social interaction and social, emotional learning between the child and the larger group of after-school participants </li></ul>
