Performs inspections of utility tunnels, pump stations, sewage pump station suction wells and elevated tanks; monitors pump stations utilizing electronic metering devices, including flow totes, polysomic and volumetric meters; prepares sketches, construction notes, and engineering and construction drawings for the department, work crews, or technical staff; provides technical support, and oversees the installation of water and sewer lines. Performs hydrostatic pressure tests and tapping of active mains (water and sewer) inspections; inspects utility facilities, to include tunnels, pump stations, suction wells, and elevated tanks, and inspects the work of utility installations performed by private contractors; coordinates bacteriological analysis and installation of backflow prevention devices to assure compliance with city specifications.
