Duties include developing and implementing lesson plans; planning and using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students; conducting assessments of student learning styles and utilizing the results for instructional activities; working cooperatively with other teachers to modify curricula as needed for students; working with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to School requirements; utilizing technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process; assisting students to analyze and improve study methods and habits; conducting ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing; creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students; managing student behavior in accordance with the School procedures and policies; establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with parents, students, teacher, and Head of School; maintaining a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members; managing student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and other duties as assigned. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Classics, Classical Languages and Literature, or a closely related field and 2 years experience as a Classics Teacher, Instructor, or Lecturer along with fluency in written and spoken Italian.
