Sample Resume for Teens

Create a resume to help you find that perfect part-time or summer job.

Like many teens, you want to find a part-time job to pay for movies and video games, save for college, or put away for a rainy day. Employers typically look for teens who present themselves professionally and with enthusiasm. A resume for teens who want to work after school, on weekends, or during summer break is easy to put together, even if you’ve never held a “real” job before. There’s a good chance you’ve picked up plenty of work experience while participating in extracurriculars, clubs, and volunteering—those skills will come in handy when you apply for your first job.

When an employer posts a job ad, it’s easy to forecast how you can get them to consider you for the position. Customize your resume to mirror the wording in the ad. For example, if it says they need someone who’s good at sales, be sure to mention the fundraising you did for a school club.
