Soccer Coach Resume Sample

Learn how to create a winning resume with these simple writing and formatting steps.

By Dillon Price, Monster Contributor

As a soccer coach, you understand the importance of a winning attitude and strategy. But conveying your strategy in your soccer coach resume isn’t the same as demonstrating it on the field. If you want to be considered for a job interview, you’ll need a solid game plan for writing your resume.

Think of getting an interview as scoring a goal, with your resume as the offense AND defense. Your career summary is the first line of offense. It encapsulates your key professional accomplishments and skills in a short paragraph, so employers don’t have to spend a lot of time scanning through your resume.

Once you’ve gotten past a hiring manager’s defenses, hit them with a list of your key skills (e.g., player development, fitness, and soccer skills development) and an in-depth work history section that outlines your most notable responsibilities and achievements.

Then create a list of technical skills (e.g., Hudl, TeamSideline, and Basecamp) as well as educational and certification credentials to put it in the net.
